kilowatts.io works with clients that vary from startups to conglomerates; from fintech to defence; from tourism to engineering. We provide a personal service and invest in our understanding of their indsutry and objectives before starting work.
We work remotely with clients but schedule frequent video catchups; and structure our work into sprints to focus our development efforts. Though we generally work on a time and materials basis; on occasion we are able to work on a fixed fee basis for projects are already rigidly defined and planned.
1. Royal Navy
Running reliable software on warships at sea is a challenge. We have been writing apps for the service's flagship Nelson programme which can:
- Interact with complex machine learning backends
- Provide a clear and easy to use user interface for personnel
- Be deployed at sea, on secure networks secluded from the public internet
2. Ecog
Ecog is a fintech startup creating tools to assist financial traders. We've helped them with:
- Data: building a MongoDB compiling years of financial trading data across millions of instruments.
- API: building a swagger compatible Restful API for consumption by Ecog's own web apps and wider public use.
3. Hearts vs Minds
HeartsVsMinds provides bleeding edge psychometric tools to FTSE 100 companies. We've helped them build a:
- Mobile app: building a fully functional MVP for iOS and Android in under 8 weeks
- Python app: to implement the business logic of their psychometric tools; wrapped in a Restful Flask API.
4. Decision Labs
DecisionLab is an engineering and datascience consultancy who we support on an ongoing basis with:
- ReactJS: web apps to interact with their machine learning and predictive models
- Docker: building containerised and multi-service applications
